Midgaard
Village of Midgaard
Midgaard sits a few pasangs inland from the Northern Seas of the Thassa. The ground is icy and near frozen, and the lodges and halls are built of timber and stone, braced against the northern winds. Smoke rises from vents and chimneys, carrying the scent of fire, mead, and labor. All paths converge upon the High Jarl’s Long Hall — the fortress and hearth of the people.
The Village
The lodges cluster around the Long Hall, each marked by carved posts or stone thresholds. Storage huts and byres line the edges, holding dried fish, salted meats, and timber for the hearth. Paths between the buildings are packed snow and ice, worn smooth by boots and sleds. Torches and fire pits mark gathering places, their glow pushing back the northern dark.
